Bear & Karen Geiger are high school sweethearts who grew up and married near Charleston, SC. They moved to Houston, TX for a few years where he worked for Texas Instruments. They relocated to Clayton, NC in 1986 where they raised 2 children together.

In 2017 Bear prayerfully set a goal to leave his full-time job by the end of 2019 so that he could spend more time with his wife and do charitable work. As Bear and Karen began looking for a piece of property to build their dream home in 2018, they kept running into limited supply and high prices. They decided to take a different approach. Bear did some calculations and realized that if they took a risk and purchased a larger piece of land than they could afford, they could split it into smaller pieces, sell them off, and get their home site for free. Later that year they closed on a 32-acre piece of land and followed the plan.  They produced just 8 large home sites from that property, but they were hooked! They started looking for more land even before they sold off all the home sites.

Bear quit his full-time job in Nov of 2019. In early 2020 they purchased a 73-acre piece of land in a neighboring county. This venture, however, would be a very different kind of project. This would be a community with at least 55 home sites and several paved roads, streetlights, a mail kiosk, and a 12-acre nature area with a walking trail.  Then they asked themselves “Have we lost our minds?”.

By April of 2021, they recorded and sold 21 of the 23 home sites in Phase 1. They purchased an additional 60 acres and that community has now grown to more than 100 home sites.

Bear & Karen have continued to add great people to their amazing team. Their son David and his wife Emily are also now working in the family business.
